Abstract

The density, viscosity and sound velocity of the binary liquid mixtures of P-methyl acetophenone with cyclohexylamine, cyclohexanol, and cyclohexane
are measured over the complete composition range at temperatures
of 303.15–313.15 K and at atmospheric pressure of 0.1 M. Excess molar volume, excess isentropic compressibility and viscosity deviation are calculated from the experimental measurements. The sign and magnitude of the derived parameters reveal the nature and type of interactions between the constituent molecules in the binary mixtures. Thermodynamic properties for this work reveal association interactions between dissimilar molecules in the binary systems P-methyl acetophenone + cyclohexylamine and P-methyl acetophenone + cyclohexanol systems, whereas dispersion forces cause the opposite trend in the other binary system P-methyl acetophenone + cyclohexane.
